A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and the UCLA School of Medicine, Dr. Frank Nemec has been practicing gastroenterology in Las Vegas since 1984. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Infection Control. Inducted to the ACLU of Nevada Board in 2023,  Dr. Nemec has served a number of leadership roles in health care, including past President of the Clark County Medical and Nevada State Medical Associations, past Chief of Staff at Sunrise and Southern Hills Hospital, and until 2011, Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve. His background includes serving on the CDC's Safe Injection Practices Coalition and as Chair of the Nevada Colorectal, Breast, and Cervical Cancer Medical Advisory Board.

Dr. Nemec has a special interest in addressing healthcare inequities and improving access to healthcare in underserved communities. As a Southern Nevada Health District Board Member, he helped develop a hepatitis C treatment program for recently released inmates of Nevada's penal system. 
 
His leisure activities include hiking, backpacking, tennis, piano, personal fitness, and spending time with family and friends.
