Bio

west x juhl is a journalist, organizer, and advocate based in Las Vegas. Prior to joining the ACLU of Nevada as communications manager in August 2017, west studied journalism and writing at UNLV and developed their passion and expertise for liberty and justice issues while covering crime, police and public safety at the Las Vegas Review-Journal — work for which they earned three Nevada Press Association awards.

west x juhl is an expert trainer and speaker on news media practices and interview skills, advocacy and political communications, community organizing, transgender equality topics, and more.

Honor the Memory of George Floyd by Being Serious About Racial Justice

George Floyd was a father, a brother, and a son. He loved spending time with his family and friends, who have said his smile would light up a room. He should still be alive today. To truly honor his memory, Nevada must get serious about racial justice and ending police violence.
