Jordyn is the Communications Manager at the ACLU of Nevada, where she began her tenure as the Digital Communications Associate in early 2022. She was born and raised in O’ahu, Hawaii, until moving to San Diego in 2016 and eventually to Las Vegas in 2019.
Jordyn received her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and Media Studies from The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. She initially declared Journalism as her major, but within her first year of schooling, she soon took an interest in all varieties of communication structures, tools, and mediums. Furthermore, she became specifically interested in the mass influence that communication and media have over society and how they can be utilized within intersectional and diverse communities to create social change. Along with civil liberties and human rights, she is also extremely passionate about mental health, animal rights, and environmental justice.
As a Native Hawaiian and Filipino community member with a melting pot of other diverse ethnicities, Jordyn is proud to come from a place rooted in rich culture and history and represents a family tree with roots that sprout from all around the world. She has a 5-year-old chihuahua mix named Lily and looks forward to providing more dogs with a loving and caring home in the future. Jordyn is also a huge true crime nerd and loves spending much of her free time watching documentaries and listening to podcasts.
