More Ways to Give

Different types of donations make the ACLU of Nevada’s work possible. Non-tax-deductible gifts to our 501(c)(4) power our political advocacy and lobbying efforts that protect civil liberties at the state and local level. Tax-deductible gifts to our 501(c)(3) fund our litigation and public education work. Together, these resources allow us to defend the rights of all Nevadans.

Your donation to the ACLU of Nevada supports both our statewide efforts and the national ACLU’s work to protect civil liberties across the country. Every contribution strengthens our shared mission of justice, equality, and freedom for all.

Making a stock gift is an easy and advantageous way to provide for the ACLU of Nevada Foundation. A gift of appreciated securities that you have owned for at least one year is tax-deductible for its full market value up to 30% of your adjusted gross income. You are also able to avoid capital gains on the transferred securities.

Stock contributions via our broker do not identify the donor. After arranging for your contribution of stock, please let us know so we can acknowledge your generosity.

Federal law allows people age 70 ½ or older to make direct transfers up to $100,000 per year, per person, to charitable organizations from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA), without the withdrawal being treated as taxable income. The withdrawal can be counted toward your Required Minimum Distribution.
