If a single story has the power to change our hearts and minds, our collective stories have the potential to create systemic change. Imagine the stories of those currently being held in solitary confinement, those who have survived this brutal practice and those of families who have had to live with the fear, sadness and uncertainty of having a loved one held in solitary shared together, with a collective message; a demand for safe alternatives to this barbaric practice, an end to solitary confinement.
We are calling for stories and experiences of those impacted by Nevada’s use of solitary confinement. By creating a living archive of voices of those impacted, we hope to capture and share the fullest version of the collective story. We encourage anyone impacted by solitary confinement in any way to share their story.
Although our focus is on fighting to end solitary confinement at all levels of the Nevada criminal justice system, through collecting stories of its negative impacts and are expressly interested in those stories, we additionally want to hear stories of joy, celebration, pride, and success from survivors and family members.
