Las Vegas, NV – Today, the ACLU of Nevada announces the hiring of Amy Rose, who will serve as Legal Director. She will oversee legal strategy for the affiliate and lead any litigation the ACLU of Nevada undertakes by working with cooperating law firms and attorneys.

“Amy joins the ACLU of Nevada with a deep commitment to ensuring justice under the law. She has a wealth of legal experience, and compassion for clients that will serve Nevadans well,” said Tod Story, executive director. “Her enthusiasm for the law, and passion for defending those who too frequently go unrepresented are a perfect fit for the work we do at the ACLU.”

"I am honored to become part of the ACLU of Nevada team, and its longstanding commitment to defending and preserving civil rights. I look forward to helping to effectuate real and lasting change for the citizens of Nevada,” Amy added.

A five year resident of southern Nevada, Amy most recently served as Associate Attorney at the firm of Kravitz, Schnitzer & Johnson. Amy brings with her a strong commitment to the Nevada community. She spent several years practicing plaintiff’s employment law in Las Vegas where she advocated on behalf of Nevada workers facing discrimination or harassment in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and other federal and state employment laws. She has also given presentations to Las Vegas Rape Crisis Center volunteers on sexual harassment in the workplace, helping to educate the community about how to confront and respond to these issues.

She volunteered as an advisor to teens in the B’nai Brith Youth Organization Las Vegas chapters and participates in the Jewish Emerging Leaders group of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas. Amy spends time volunteering for Planned Parenthood of Southern Nevada and is a member of the Glass Leadership class for the Anti-Defamation League in Las Vegas, which facilitates leadership development to confront injustice and intolerance in the community.
