On June 15, 2012, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security formally announced that it will offer deferred action to “DREAMers.” For all the promising undocumented youth who call America “home,” this represents the opportunity to come out of the shadows and fully embrace the only country they know. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services recently released printed rules about the program. The American Immigration Council has prepared a Q&A fact sheet on what is known and not known about the new program. This is not legal advice from the ACLU of Nevada.
