The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of Trustees is accepting applications from people interested in joining its Sex Education Advisory Committee. Southern Nevada students need people on the committee who believe in the importance of comprehensive and medically accurate sex education.

Applications will be accepted through February 14, 2014.

The committee has vacancies for "CCSD students, representatives from the religious community, a person in medicine or nursing, a counselor and a female student who will be attending a CCSD school during the 2013-2014 school year," according to an announcement from CCSD.

The announcement seeking applicants to the Sex Education Advisory Committee follows the Trustees' decision on December 12, 2013 to postpone votes on both its sex education operations manual and the Sex Education Advisory Committee members.

Additional details and the complete application for the Sex Education Advisory Committee is available from the CCSD website
