The ACLU of Nevada was just granted Amicus status in the pending coroner’s inquest case before the Nevada Supreme Court. The ACLU of Nevada has been one of the strongest supporters of the revised inquest process in Clark County and now will be able to defend that process in front of the Nevada Supreme Court. Oral arguments are set before the Court on June 5, 2012. This is an important step to ensure transparency and accountability when Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers are involved in a homicide.
