Jennifer Shomshor is a Senior Attorney with the ACLU of Nevada. Licensed to practice law since 2013, Jen began her career as a criminal defense lawyer before moving into civil litigation. She is an experienced trial attorney who is licensed to practice before all Nevada Courts and the District of Columbia.
Though a longtime Las Vegas resident, Jen is originally from the Denver area where she graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication in 2006. She then went on to obtain a Master of Nonprofit Management in 2009 from Regis University before attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and earning her Juris Doctorate in 2013.
In the course of her professional career, Jen has had the opportunity to work for national nonprofit organizations, international Fortune 500 companies, and federal agencies in and around Washington, D.C. She is an accomplished litigator and a compassionate advocate.
Committed to building and fostering social capital in the community, it was only natural that Jen would take an attorney position with the ACLU of Nevada. In this role she pursues impactful litigation designed to advance social justice - a process she refers to as Big Work. Jen is a powerful force in and out of the courtroom and she uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to defend and advance the civil liberties and civil rights of all Nevadans.
Jen is a member of the Nevada chapters of the National Lawyers Guild and the National Organization for Women. She is inspired daily by her husband and her four children. In her free time she enjoys travelling, hiking, and reading.
