Robert Chester, President

Robert is a semi-retired attorney specializing in intellectual property and contract law.  He came to Nevada after working in the Los Angeles entertainment industry.  He has been a member of the board of the ACLU of Nevada since 1999.  As President, he serves on the Executive Committee, and he is also Nevada's representative on the National ACLU Board.  He lives at Lake Tahoe, serves on other non-profit boards, and is currently President of Barton Healthcare System, serving South Lake Tahoe and the Carson Valley.

Rachel Anderson, Vice President and National Board Representative

Rachel Anderson is a Professor of Law at the William S. Boyd School of Law, UNLV.  She has served on the Board of Directors of the ACLU of Nevada for several years and currently serves as Vice President of the Nevada affiliate and as a member of the ACLU’s National Board of Directors.  Professor Anderson is a graduate of Edward C. Reed High School in Sparks and earned her M.A. in International Policy Studies from Stanford University and her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.  She is a Director of the American Society of Comparative Law (ASCL) and serves on the Investment Committee of Nevada’s Battle Born Growth Escalator Venture Program and the Advisory Board of the Kenny Guinn Center for Policy Priorities.  She is also a member of the Council of African-American Professionals at UNLV, the Las Vegas Chapter (NV) of The Links, Inc., and the National Bar Association.  At UNLV, Professor Anderson advises two student groups, the Black Law Students Association and the NAACP College Chapter.

Todd Eikelberger, Vice President
Todd Eikelberger picture Todd Eikelberger was born and raised in Reno and is a third generation Nevadan. He went to undergraduate school at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and then law school in Los Angeles at Loyola Law School. Following Law School, he worked in the entertainment industry for 7 years. During his time in law school he became involved with the Alliance for Children’s Rights which was an organization that fought to make sure that children who were “in the system” in Los Angeles County had a voice in what they were going through and were able to have adequate legal representation to make sure their rights were looked after. He also became involved with the Human Rights Campaign, Lawyers for Human Rights and the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center. Because of his involvement in these various organizations he became very passionate about making sure that people’s basic rights were protected, no matter their race, age, sex, sexual orientation or religion. He moved back to Reno seven years ago to begin practicing law. He is currently the Events Chairman for Spectrum of Northern Nevada and the vice chairman of the Stonewall Democrats of Northern Nevada.

I have been a Nevada Resident for twenty years. I have worked with the ACLU of Nevada as a cooperating attorney litigating several high profile Racial Profiling, Inadequate Prison Health Care and Sex Offender Registry cases. I believe that the work done by the ACLU is of the utmost importance for the maintenance of a free society.

Sondra Cosgrove, Secretary

Sondra moved to Las Vegas in 1986 and is a history professor at the College of Southern Nevada. She teaches survey courses in American, Latin American, and Native American history and is the Co-Chair of the CSN Women’s Alliance. In addition to engaging in diversity activities at work, Sondra is also the President of the League of Women Voters of Las Vegas Valley and the First Vice President of the League of Women Voters of Nevada. She works on a daily basis to ensure that all eligible voters are able to register and that our election processes remain fair and open.

John Krieger, Board Member

Krieger is an intellectual property litigator at Dickinson Wright. He has extensive experience in intellectual property litigation in both state and federal court; prosecuting and defending clients for claims including trademark infringement, copyright infringement, patent infringement, domain name litigation; as well as trade secret misappropriation and unfair competition. In addition, Krieger advises clients who have a presence on the Internet regarding a variety of issues, including defamation, privacy, and data breaches. 

Lisa Rasmussen, Board Member and Equity Officer

Lisa is an attorney with a solo private practice in Las Vegas.  She specializes in criminal defense, civil litigation, and appeals.  She is an executive officer and board member of Nevada Attorneys for Criminal Justice and is also a member of the National Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers.   Prior to law school she owned a sentencing consulting business in San Diego specializing in the development and presentation of mitigating evidence for sentencing purposes and in death penalty cases.   While a graduate student in the Sociology Department at San Diego State University, Lisa worked on a two-year grant project through the National Institute of Health designed to facilitate the reintegration and rehabilitation of dually diagnosed, homeless veterans within San Diego County.

Cynthia Trigg, Board Member
Cindy Trigg

Cindy was elected to serve three consecutive terms on the Douglas County NV School Board for a total of 12 years. She served as the Director to NASB for Douglas County for nine years. Served as Chair and in other leadership positions in Douglas County for the Democratic Party and the NSDP from 2003 thru the election of 2014, including as an employee for the DNC as NV Rural organizer from 2006 - 2010. Cindy worked as a Flight Attendant and International Purser for American Airlines 30 years before retiring.

Zachary Robbins, Board Member
Zachary Robbins

Dr. Zachary Scott Robbins wants schools to provide children and their families with experiences that ensure community health, wealth, and wellness. As a principal, Zac has turned around secondary schools on the East Coast, West Coast, and he has helped thousands of students get accepted to colleges, trade schools, and our armed forces. Zac was educated at Howard University in Washington, DC, and he earned his Ph.D. in Education Administration at Boston College.

Roger Vogel, Board Member

Since joining the ACLU in 1962, Roger has served with ACLU affiliates in Washington, California, Hawaii and Virginia (president of the Hampton Roads Chapter for four years).  Upon retiring from the US Navy in 1992 and moving to Nevada, Roger has been very active member the ACLU of Nevada, including several years of service as Board Secretary.  Roger has broadened his activist activities in other areas as well, he served as the Chairman of the Regional Transportation Commission’s Public Transportation Advisory Committee and the Citizens Advisory Committee.
