Reno Gayla Film Festival

The ACLU of Nevada is sponsoring a screening of Cruel and Unusual at the Reno Gayla Film Festival on October 16. Because many states, including Nevada, separate prisoners based on genitalia alone, pre-op transgender women are placed in men's correctional facilities where they often find themselves vulnerable. Cruel and Unusual is a documentary exploring the challenges faced by these women. A panel discussion will follow the film screening.
