Intake Information
Please review this important information, and you will be prompted to enter your information online. The ACLU of Nevada does not accept telephone or walk-in complaints.
The ACLU of Nevada is interested in redressing violations of civil liberties. Unfortunately, our resources are limited, and we must concentrate those resources where they are most needed. We take cases that raise significant constitutional or civil liberties issues and which impact others in the same situation. We are unable to take many cases, even those concerning real injustices. If your complaint is not pursued by our office, it does not mean it is without merit.
There may be deadlines that might affect your lawsuit or grievance. If you are concerned about whether the time for bringing your complaint is about to pass, you should not rely on filing a complaint with the ACLU to protect you; you should consult with an attorney of your choice. The ACLU cannot give you advice about the deadlines that apply to your case. To protect your rights, please consult with an attorney promptly to find out what deadlines apply in your case.
The ACLU is unable to give you advice about your case or provide other types of assistance, (for example, reviewing your papers or conducting legal research to assist you), if we do not accept your case. This policy allows us to direct the necessary resources to those cases that we do accept.
The ACLU is not an attorney referral service. For a list of attorneys, and/or for information about organizations who assist low-income Nevadans with legal matters, we recommend you consult:
Nevada Bar Association, Lawyer Referral Service: http://www.nvbar.org/lris/lris.htm
