ACLU of Nevada Hosts MILK Screening Party

Las Vegas ACLU staff, supporters, and friends turned out on Tuesday, November 25 for an advance screening of MILK. The new film, starring Sean Penn, chronicles the life and times of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay public official in the United States. It provides insight into the early days of the gay rights movement in San Francisco and elsewhere – an especially timely topic given current national discussions about marriage equality. The tickets were offered to the ACLU of Nevada in recognition of its history of advocacy on behalf of the LGBT community.

The event, in its inaugural year, has been staged successfully in Florida and Arizona, with local ACLU affiliates present at both.
