ACLU of Nevada Partners with Human Rights Campaign for “Camp Equality”

The ACLU of Nevada is joining with other local groups committed to LGBT rights to co- sponsor the Human Rights Campaign’s Camp Equality, June 28-29 in Las Vegas. The weekend-long program offers lectures, discussion, and training for individuals interested in community organizing and campaign work. The event, in its inaugural year, has been staged successfully in Florida and Arizona, with local ACLU affiliates present at both.

Camp Equality is an opportunity for all Nevadans interested in LGBT issues to learn the skills necessary for activism on a grassroots level. The ACLU of Nevada, one of the state’s leading advocacy groups for equality and constitutional rights, is proud to be a part of this exciting endeavor.

Anyone interested in participating in the Camp should contact the Nevada ACLU office for additional information. Call Phil Hooper, Las Vegas Office Manager, at 702.366.1536 with any questions.  Registration is $35; scholarships may be available through the Human Rights Campaign.
